What is it about Palm City that draws so many families from South Florida and points north? Palm City is aguably the perfect blend of a suburban lifestyle and small town simplicity. It is an area where you can still find children playing or riding bikes on their way to and from school (not a common site in Florida where children are mostly bussed to school).
Palm City is served by four “A” rated schools, including the Hidden Oaks middle school and Palm City, Bessey Creek, and Citrus Grove elementary schools. It is located just west of Stuart and the St. Lucie River and is about a 45 minute ride north of West Palm Beach and less than two hours from Orlando.
Palm City is also notable for its gated communities and leafy neighborhoods that offer a wide range of home styles and prices. On the high end are luxury homes and estates exceeding $1 million, but many area condos and homes sell in the more affordable $150,000 to $500,000 range. For those seeking open spaces, the Palm City Farms section and other western subdivisions feature equestrian and wooded properties with parcels typically ranging from five to ten acres and more.
As a growing suburban area, Palm City has retained much of its rural charachter but with all the amenities of more urban settings. Palm City is only minutes from I-95 and Florida Turnpike exits, shopping, hospitals and Historic Downtown Stuart.
