I cannot believe that it is almost Thanksgiving. Over the last year I have found myself in the odd position of completely reinventing myself. Selling my Charleston Home Staging Company earlier in the year, then getting my real estate license in Northeast Florida, I've switched hats. Having to learn so many new things, re-establish my professional reputation in a completely new market, and deal with living three states away from my oldest two children, Thanksgiving is a feast not only in food, but in tradition and family.
Unfortunately my oldest child, my son, won't be able to drive down for Thanksgiving. His new wife works retail and working Black Friday is an absolute must. My oldest daughter, and her fiance, will be joining us, however.
My family has a couple of well steeped traditions at Thanksgiving. The most important being the peeling of the Chestnuts for our Thanksgiving dressing. The story is kind of a long one, but I've written about it on my other blog, where I've also included the recipe, in case you want to make the best stuffing you've ever had.
As a bonus, I've also included my home made eggnog recipe. It's super easy to make and everyone always asks for the recipe.
If you are looking for a way to instill more than just food in your Thanksgiving tradtion, consider giving this one a try.
