Do you work through the holidays?

Twas the week before Thanksgiving,

and all through the office,

not a Realtor was working,

they had all but checked out.

Does this describe you or most of your fellow Realtors in your office. Over the past few years it certainly seems that way in my office. I know, I know; we are all "independent contractors, and have worked "hard" all year and this is our vacation time.

Out of office

Today is November 18th, there are exactly 43 days left in 2012, provided the Mayan calender is incorrect.

Thanksgiving and Black Friday give us a four day weekend and since Christmas and New Years Day fall on Tuesday's this year there are two more four day weekends since Christmas Eve and New Years Eve are like secondary holidays and no one will work on them either.

So that leaves 31 days of potential "work days", listings, leads and leverage!

What will you do with them?

Steven: Most Realtors I know DO work through the Holidays... mostly because most Realtors I know want to EAT during the holidays... and pay their bills, etc. I guess it must be nice if you can take the last six weeks of the year off... but I would guess it's much to costly for most agents.

ps... do many people actually BELIEVE that Mayan calendar stuff. How silly.

Steven, it's already in the cards that I'll be working. I've worked for those offices that seem to take a holiday throughout the last two months of the year and then are sluggish getting started in the New Year. I didn't like being surrounded by a lack of motivation.
