Global Warming - Do You Believe It? - Do You Care?

Like you we have heard about "Global Warming" for years.  Is it just a political football or is it real.  Is it really effecting us or does it just make good news.

In the Toronto, Ontario area here we are November 19, 2012, it's going to be 50 degrees today and the rest of the week looks to be the same.  We don't have any snow and we don't see it in the forecast.  Is this the result of "Global Warming".

No snow is just fine for us, but many people and businesses want and need the snow.  Have you ever jumped on a snowmobile and followed the trails through a forest?  Haven't done that for a long time.  Hey, guess we were getting off the track, LOL.

Besides the weather, is "Global Warming" really effecting you, will it effect your kids or your kids kids?

Checking our emails this morning we came across a Yahoo video and thought we should share it with you.  Bill Weir of ABC News, Good Morning America was reporting on "Global Warming".  Just in case you missed the show take the time to watch it below.

It's time we start listening and start doing our little parts to stop "Global Warming", before it is to late.

Share your ideas in the comments how we can all help stop "Global Warming".

Al/Peggy: We are already seeing effects such as warmer temps in the winter, accelerated melting of the polar ice caps, etc.  I am worried for my kids and grandkids.

Al and Peggy-I can't help but think that with everything mankind does and continues to do to our planet that it and our atmosphere have and continue to be affected. I'll take a look at the video !

I think it is real enough.  The question is more one of can we do anything about it?  How much of it is an exageration of a natural climate warming---humans just helping it along.  Some of these questions won't be answered in the narrow window of our own experience.  Humans are not necessary to the earth making balance.  We like to think we are but it was here long before we were and will be here long after we are gone.  Just ask the dinosaurs.

With 7 Billion of us on the planet now, I think it has to make a difference. There have always been weather cycles though, so probably a combination. I have definately been enjoying the snowless driving and lovely warm temps.

Hi Guys, Global Warming is a reality, and it is a product of human indulgence and mismanagement. If we don't do something to change the trend, we may well be the cause of oceans rising and temperatures elevating as well.

The melting of the polar ice cap is very serious and Greenland is becoming greener by the day. Serious.

Al & Peggy, I am a believer, however there are a lot of naysayers.  You are right on suggesting that each of us need to do our part so we do not accelerate the problem.

BTW Personally I like the warmer than normal temps in November and no snow till Christmas Eve, but the flip side is more severe weather like Hurricane Sandy.  Okay if we have freezing temps and tons of snow we will just have to follow the snow birds south.

Al and Peggy, yes I care about Global Warming, but not sure I believe that it is happening to the extent that all the enviornment groups keep on reporting.  I like Joni's answer, God has it under control.  But you can never assume that he has not asked someone to start building an Ark :)

I believe it is a cyclical warming, coupled with our earthly pollution problems - we can all take small steps ( or large ones if you can) and collectively it adds up. To ignore it - or assume it's something we can't help prevent is, IMHO wrong.  Thanks so much for the thoughtful post and the inclusion of the video report.

Al & Peggy, I'm inclined to believe that we are facing global warming and it's most likely of our own doing.  I also don't think we as a people on this blue green planet will every be able to agree on anything this monumental and take action.  We don't have a very good track record as a friend of the earth...

I read that the extreme weather doesn't just mean higer temperatures but that global warming causes more intense rainfall and droughts at the same time across the world. The earth is telling us something...

If you give any credence to science whatsoever, you know global warming is happening.  If you have eyes and nerve endings, you can see it and feel it.  And yet we somehow dismiss this crisis, this global emergency, as something we'll either think our way out of or Jesus will take care of.
