Many years ago when I was a newlywed and had not a clue about anything, when my young bride and I reached an impasse, well it was fashionable to seek out marriage counseling and we did. It is a sign that you want to protect and insure your original investment which is the marriage. Going into it, I felt sure my wife would get the help SHE NEEDED...LOL
NOW YOU WILL SEE THE PROBLEM
So we are sitting in front of a licensed professional and we picked an issue and it turns out that my wife was the one to go first in having to look at her self. So, what did I do? I didn't waste a moment in saying to the counselor, you see, there it is there she goes again and now you know why we are here. We just saved loads of time and trouble. Little did I know that all that gibberish coming out of me was my little part of the problem making itself known...
UN-OH...I KNOW THAT PERSON....YIKES!
When you have to look at others, we see and hear it all right down to the t's being crossed and the i's being dotted. YEP, they are the problem. Where the pain and the learning experience goes into high gear is when its your turn to be explored and accountable. You find out right away that the HOT SEAT is no respecter of persons...The enemy has been sighted and it looks like of all people..ME
THE POWER OF DYSFUNCTION IS NOT TO BE UNDER-ESTIMATED
Taking responsibility for ones actions is just the beginning and it could take a while depending how powerful your ego and pride is. Eventually you will arrive if you want to see it and if there is someone in your life strong enough to stay the course with you so that you may see yourself and be rid of non-productive or dysfunctional behavior.
WHO AM I... IS A GOOD START
It is only a belief that has to be modified or let go of. One has to wonder why we don't just allow it? As mentioned above, the EGO and the PRIDE has its own agenda separate from our true selves and it wants to prevail. People have become so separated from their true selves that they cannot tell the difference between learned behavior and what they really know to be true
YOUR PROGRAM IS RUNNING WILD
People are full of programming and hear the program and not necessarily what was said or even done. I have had people repeat back to me (at my insistence) what they think I said and they even use words I never said and they admit I didn't say it too after I specifically state I never said those words. Even actions are questioned too
BECOMING LIKE LITTLE CHILDREN... WORKS
What we all have to learn is to become like little children who are open to learning, change and who don't make a big deal over mistakes or error. The adult world is quick to point out that it is wrong to make a mistake and makes it even harder to admit it. That is why we have so much woe in our personal and professional lives.
BITE THE BULLET
Rather than arguing or practicing stubbornness, one would do well to explore remedy via solution and take responsibility even if it requires biting the bullet so that we can get there... That may be a wise investment for a better future....
