My Shiba Inu with orchids I grew on our partial constructed deck in St. Thomas, Virgin islands
I live in paradise, but every once in a while I get the urge to travel out side St. Thomas and the Virgin Islands. I have a dog, a Shiba Inu, named Foxie. She was a wedding gift from my husband and was a fuzzy, 4 oz. cutie when I received her. I have to make arrangements to care for her when I travel.
There are several Veterinarians on St. Thomas and in the Virgin Islands. I have become particularly fond of the folks at Tutu Veterinary Hospital, who can be reached at 340777 7788, they don't have a website. It is owned by Drs' Moore and Moore, a husband and wife vet team. They also own and operate, Moore Veterinary Clinic located in Red Hook Plaza on the East end of St. Thomas, in the Virgin Islands. Their phone number is 340 775 6623. Among their excellent services, they offer kenneling.
I have owned a variety of pets since childhood. I have never before had the experience of dogs wanting to go to the Veterinarian or to a kennel. That is, until I encountered this facility in the Virgin Islands. Foxie actually gets excited when she arrives at Tutu Veterinary Hospital, in the Virgin Islands. It is not just indifference, as might be expected because of her breed, they can be very aloof or indifferent but real excitement. There is never any reluctance, tugging on her leash or jumping back in the car.
Just in case you think Foxie is kind of strange, I had another dog until recently, Teddy who I adopted from the Humane Society of St. Thomas. Teddy loved to stay at the Tutu Veterinary Hospital, as well and had a similar reaction to going there. Teddy survived heart troubles for some years under the care of Dr. Moore, who treated him with natural supplements first and then pharmaceuticals. I finally had to put Teddy down after 17 years of a good life.
If you have to leave your pets, I highly recommend the Tutu Veterinary Hospital, in St. Thomas, in the Virgin Islands. The accommodations are not chic, but there is an overwhelming level of love, attention and great medical care.
