Engaging first time Lafayette, IN home buyers through the closing AND THEN SOME!!!
I love working with first time home buyers in Lafayette, Indiana! Most are internet savvy and have done their homework well ahead of time.
I have a special bond with young, first time home buyers as I taught Social Studies and Health Education for 31 years at the secondary level. I miss my students, and first time home buyers remind me how fortunate I was to have taught and coached in four decades in the Lafayette area!
Jen and Jake (pictured at left) typify the enthusiasm, preparedness, and willingness to listen that I find so rewarding in working with first time home buyers in our Lafayette, IN real estate market.
It is important that first time home buyers understand the process they will be going through and communication is the key element for a successful transaction from initial consultation, lending process, showings, offer and counter offers, home inspection, title insurance and ultimately the closing.
A good teacher and coach conveys to the students/athletes where they are going in the future with the material and skills at hand, and what the next step in the process is so they can see the BIG PICTURE and be able to integrate the task at hand. Communication is the key to that process, and first time home buyers just want to be kept informed and know what the next step is in the home buying process.
Engaging your first time home buyers with constant communication and keeping them informed of what to expect next can take much of the anxiety of buying a home for the first time.
Oh, did I mention that Jake was referred to me by Trica, a first time home buyer from this spring? How neat is that???
Engaging your first time home buyers with hard work, understanding, and caring about their special needs and challenges CAN ALSO LEAD TO THE UNEXPECTED!
Jake, asked me if I could help him set up a table or two before Jen could make it back to their new house after the closing!
It turns out he is quite the romantic as he ended up buying over THREE DOZEN roses to surprise her on their beautiful new home!
The BIG SURPRISE was that Jake told me that he was going to propose to Jen when she arrived at the house after the closing.
So we prepared the surprise in WRT (world record time) arranging flowers, setting up tables, and even preparing a path of red rose petals in the house entry way!
Who would have ever thought that engaging your first time home buyers with timely and constant communication would lead to helping your buyer pop the question to his inamarata?!?
By the way, Jen texted me right after Jake popped her the question with this joyful response:
"Thanks, Bruce. I said YES!!!" :)
Is selling real estate a great profession, or what???
