Getting close to holidays

What a change holidays make to daily activity and household routine.

With the pleasure of renewing family associations, there comes an adjustment of our household for a short while.

Our home complement is my wife, myself and two cats who have us as their staff.

So, when last evening we took on an extra nine bodies for a few days, the status quo for the felines was severely challenged.

Small people have a tendency to enjoy play with available animals, the animals not so much. When final “good nights” had been said, said cats retreated to our room begging asylum. This morning saw them reluctant to leave. Later I could see one contemplating packing a bag and departing until after the mayhem.

I am sure that this scenario will be repeated perhaps millions of times across the country as we happily gather for the celebration of Thanksgiving.

As an Australian now enjoying permanent residency, I am gradually getting used to this strange American Holiday.

Thanksgiving is a time for "gathering the family and having a few friends over "for pie"...... your cats are smart to retreat to "safe place".  Thanks for a "fun" post....

Larry-If the animals were dogs I'd say they may get used to and like the attention. Having never owned cats, I'm not sure what the future holds for you. Good wishes for your feline friends.
