Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport LogoAlaska Airlines + Sonoma County = Free Flying Wine

You know those annoying baggage fees that most airlines charge you? Well, Alaska Airlines in conjunction with the Charles M. Schulz (Sonoma County) Airport has a baggage fee exception that wine lovers are going to be very happy about.

Each passenger can fly a full case of wine for FREE on any Alaska Airlines flight departing Sonoma County!

I'm embarassed to tell you that someone from Washington State told me about this. I guess when you live here like me, you don't have to figure out how to get your wine home!

So the secret is out. Visit Sonoma County, enjoy a wine tasting vacation, and fly your wine home for free. It doesn't get any better than that.

Maggie - I had no idea Alaska Airlines did this until this year! There are only three other airports that have this agreement with Alaska Airlines ... I feel special!

Mary Elizabeth - they are my favorite airline, I even signed up for one of their frequent flyer credit cards.

My son worked for Alaska up until last year and this has been going on for a while. Your bags will cost you but your wine will be flying in style =]

Paul - I can't believe I didn't know this!

This is from Alaska's web site ... "Customers departing from Pasco (PSC), Santa Rosa (STS), Walla Walla (ALW), or Yakima (YKM) airports are allowed to check one properly packaged box of wine without charge."

So there are only 4 airports where you can fly your wine for free on Alaska Airlines and my airport is one of them ... cool!
