Florida's New License Plate Designs- VOTE ONLINE!

The Florida Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles has designed four new license plates and is wanting everyone to pick the design they like the best.

Vote4Tag - FloridaThe new license tags (plates) have a new sleek design with smooth surfaces and better readability.  This will help all the cameras at tolls and intersections be able to read the plates more accurately.   The tags will also have seven characters instead of the historical six digits. With the current 6 digit tags, Florida is now in danger of running out of possible combinations.

The State of Florida is setting up a new WEB SITE so that everyone can go VOTE ONLINE.

The website will go LIVE on November 26th and close voting on December 14th.

The site is www.Vote4FloridaTag.com.

I have gone to the site and there are no designs showing YET.   So, go visit the page at VOTE4FLORIDATAG.COM and bookmark it so you can come back on 11/26 to see the designs and register your vote!

We get to VOTE on the tag designs this year,  but the actual release of the new tags/plates won't happen until 2014

I like the democratic way of choosing the license plates Christine. Gosh we have SO MANY in Texas these days to choose from with the personalized plates I don't even know which one is the standard one anymore.

Hi Gary:  We've got so many different plates here too.  All metal and stamped. Now they are changing them to a flat surface.  I can't wait to see the designs they have come up with.  Can't see them until the site opens.  Everyone is curious!
