Ten more days to go!!!
Today on Day 20, I am so extremely thankful for my childhood. My wonderful parents raised us in what could only be described as the old fashioned Disney style :)
By the age of 32, my parents had 7 of us kids with 10 years between the oldest Larry and me, the youngest.
Fun cannot even begin to describe our childhood.
We were a military family but my Father was posted to different offices on the same base rather than the entire family being uprooted every few years. (I think the powers that be knew how difficult it would be to move all of us!)
But I like to think it was my Father being so excellent at his job, they didn't want to lose him from CFB Kingston!!
Our playground 10 months of the year was Old Fort Henry and here is a shot taken by my older brother, of the rest of us. Larry would have been maybe 12 years old ? (we don't know who the man and woman are in this shot: not my parents!! LOL)
Every July and August, we would be at our Charleston Lake cottage, swimming, boating, skiing, fishing, building forts and generally having the best time that kids could !! No schedules, no rules other than don't make a fuss unless you have a stick in your eye!! Carefree, fancy free - aaah that was the life.
I am so appreciative of my parents and all that they provided to make sure we each had the most perfect of childhood!
As you, my friends in the US, approach your Thanksgiving Day, remember the good times and appreciate what you have today because of it, or in spite of it.
