Can you believe we're more than half way through November already? December is peeking it's head around the corner. That means just one thing, folks: the College Station Jingle Bell Fun Run is almost here.
On Sunday, December 2nd, it's time to tie those jingle bells to your laces, strap on your running shoes and head on down to the corner of University Drive and South College Avenue near Texas A&M in College Station for the 23rd Annual Jingle Bell Fun Run. What's so fun about running? Well, besides the sound of jingle bells echoing throughout the two mile stretch of the run, you're allowed to bring your little ones, both human and animal kinds, to participate with you.
If you don't have any jingle bells of your own, don't worry. The City of College Station's Parks & Recreation Department will provide them for everyone who participates. With your $15 entry fee, you will receive a commemorative T-shirt. All proceeds from the event will benefit the United Way of Brazos Valley. Running is really only required in the title. You can walk, skip, hop, jump or dance your way to the finish line. However you want to get there is fine. Just have fun!
Online registration is currently open at the City of College Station's website. You will need to create a free account in order to register. Online registration will only be available until November 29th. However, you can also register in person at the Parks & Rec Office (1000 Krenek Tap Rd) during regular business hours or on the day of the event from 12:30pm to 1:30pm near the starting line. It's OK to drink that egg nog, take an extra helping of mashed potatoes or dive into the pie at Thanksgiving. You're going to work it off at the College Station Jingle Bell Fun Run on December 2nd. Right? Yeah, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
