Shopping should be enjoyable – relaxed – a fun outing to enhance the joy of Christmas season, not destroy it. This year Downtown Edmond is bringing us Holiday Cheer by turning the entire downtown area into a Christmas wonderland.

It starts Saturday, December 8^th.

6:00 pm 2012 Mayor’s Essay Contest winner announced at Shannon Miller Park. Edmond’s 1^st through 5^th graders were invited to enter the “If you were Cindy Lou Who, what would you do to convince the Grinch not to steal Christmas and help his heart grow three sizes too big?” Essay Contest.

6:45 pm Lighted Parade starting at the UCO campus and winding through Downtown Edmond.

Edmond’s Ice Skating rink will be open after the Parade until 10 pm. The outdoor rink opens up November 23^rd. Check out more at expressice.com!

• December 7^th, 8^th, 14^th, 15^th, 21^st and 22^nd – Strolling Carolers
• December 8^th and 15^th – 1889 Territorial Schoolhouse’s Make and Take Crafts 11:00 am to 4:00 pm
• December 8^th – Santa Claus visits Siler Leaf Gems 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
• December 13^th – Santa Claus visits Java Daves 4:00 to 7:00 pm
• December 15^th – Santa Claus visits Java Daves 11:00 am to 2:00 pm
• December 15^th – Edmond Historical Society’s Gingerbread House Contest – 2:00 pm
