Ernestine Lockhart— February 6, 1925 - November 17, 2012
Ernestine Lockhart, formerly of Augusta, Ark., died Saturday, Nov, 17, in Cape Girardeau. She is survived by her son Floyd H Lockhart Jr. and daughter-in-law Elizabeth Lockhart, grandson Floyd H Lockhart III, granddaughter Gelanie A Lockhart, all of Cape Girardeau,MO; sister Janice Hughes of Altus, Ark; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Tommie Larue, her husband of 54 years Floyd H Lockhart, brothers C T Larue, John Larue, Glenn Larue, Joe Larue, and her sister Marie LaPlante. She was born in White County, Ark.
She owned and operated Ernestine’s Dress Shop in Augusta, Ark., for many years and also served as as substitute postmaster in Gregory, Ark., as well as working at her father-in-law’s general store in Gregory.
She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Cape Girardeau, MO. Graveside services are tomorrow (Nov. 20) at 2 pm at Augusta Memorial Cemetery, Augusta, Ark, to be conducted by Rev. Mike Shupert of Cape Girardeau. Pallbearers are Floyd Lockhart Jr, Floyd Lockhart III, Paul Collins, Dane Collins, Bob Phillips, and Judy Abrisz.
Rhodes and Sons Funeral Home in Augusta is in charge of arrangements.
