Black Friday, don’t forget the small local businesses
Rather than reinvent the wheel by posting a blog about shopping local because all these points fit my community in Eastchester, NY and probably your hometown as well. The best way to help the economy is to "shop local."
As we prepare for Thanksgiving tomorrow, we are also making our holiday gift list. No doubt, we are all aware of the sales and promotions the big box stores are holding on Black Friday, but please remember the local small businesses.
In Downtown Ventura, there are so many unique boutique stores, where one can find unique gifts that are not found at the big box stores.
And while you are in Downtown Ventura, enjoy the many local restaurants and pastry shops, like the newest Marie Shannon Confections located on Chestnut.
For all animal lovers and equestrians, stop at the Wharf, located near Downtown Ventura on front street. At the Wharf, not only will one find clothing, treats for all your animal friends, but they also have a gift shop filled with items you won’t see at the big box stores.
A short drive from Ventura is the quaint city of Ojai. Not only is the drive filled with beautiful scenery, but for all art lovers and those looking for beautiful one of a kind jewelry, this is a must trip. I guarantee that you won’t be disappointed in the beauty and uniqueness of the items in the boutiques in this artsy small town of Ojai.
I hope you find the perfect gifts on your list and thank you for considering shopping at local small businesses in and around Ventura.************************************************************************************
