The "GOOD" REALTOR®

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with REAL ESTATE REFERRAL NETWORK 209970

I heard one of our clients  say,  "Oh, the ‘good" ones make it look SO easy..."  Well I have to tell you, that sure made all of us at the Firm feel great, because I don't think most clients suspect the ART that happens behind the scenes that moves us all along at a steady pace toward the Happy Closing.

What happens when they engage the services of a "good" REALTOR® is nothing less than a masterful orchestration... a Collaborative-Team Effort that works for the benefit of all concerned  in the most positive of ways.

Possibly an analogy is appropriate: Think of what goes on behind the scenes on a smooth train ride where the theory and function of shock absorbers is tested. The "shock absorbers" are the professional participants who work in concertto bring "comfort" to the "client-traveler"... In the case of the successful real estate transaction, each professional participant has a role to play in the journey  Home...  and marr bridge over stream in green ashevilleny "riders" on this "train" are unaware of

  • What the REALTOR ® does
  • What the transaction coordinator does
  • What the mortgage originator does
  • What the underwriter does
  • What the home inspector does
  • What the Ecologist does
  • What the Land Planner does
  • What the Green Builder does
  • What the termite inspector does
  • What the radon inspector does
  • What the well inspector does
  • What the water inspector does
  • What the septic inspector does
  • What the glazier does
  • What the surveyor does
  • What the dowser does
  • What the paralegal does
  • What attorney does
  • What the register of deeds office does
  • What the health department does
  • What the building commission does

What really counts is that All are On Board,  because this is one journey over what could be some pretty tricky tracks where timing and communication, smooth out the bumps along the way so that they don't turn into insurmountable mountains ! When the "Good " Ones are conducting, it can be a wonderful ride.

I've seen a list like this before and wished I had printed it. It is an eye opener for most people. Mine if I print this now?

Go for it...and many happy closings and "train rides" along the way... Possibly this can help real estate professionals to explain to clients  how we work for them...For sure I am complimented that you liked this piece well enough to print it! THX!

janeAnne,

Amazing how many professionals are involved in the property ownership transition process .....and so many things that each of them does, in particular real estate sales reps, who wear so many hats, you would have to hire a whole team of other people to fill their shoes if you didn't have one!

Excellent list.....and how true about the smoothness of the ride when the 'good' ones are involved.

I agree with Stephanie,

The list you have compiled would be a great thing to have in mind to remind clients of all the facets of this profession. Being good is like conducting a orchestra of many different seats.

Folks need to understand that we are a team, like a finely tuned automobile. Not used car salesmen (no offence to used car salesmen). Like anything, evaluation should be on individual merit, not on preconceptions.

  You are a good one!

Hi janeAnne - I LOVE it when I see your smiling face pop up on my subscribers list!  And this list is terrific.  I love this, "When the "Good " Ones are conducting, it can be a wonderful ride."

That is SO true, isn't it?  And really good agents do make what we do look like 'art'.  That's my goal every single time, and when I get the kind of compliments you did, wow, does that make me feel just great!

janeAnne -- you are a very good conductor.  A true professional is a "conductor" and must make sure everything is running smoothly.  Your clients are lucky they had the opportunity to work with you.

When I wrote this , I actually surprised myself...when you comment, ' " Amazing how many professionals are involved in the property ownership transition process..." I have to agree...and I have not mentioned the entire list....like STAGERS...for example...

Very good point that you made here..." The list you have compiled would be a great thing to have in mind [and on hand] to remind clients of all the facets of this profession. . ." I think I may just print out this post to hand out to my clients. . .

Yes... as you (and I) say..." really good agents do make what we do look like 'art'.  Putting a happy transaction together is like putting a feast together...takes lots of-planning and attention to detail...and then everyone smiles and is satisfied...this could be better than a Veggie Plate, eh?

Hi Janeanne:

Great list! Along with the dowser we might as well add well driller. These are two groups of people that are teaming up more and more here in the mountains.
