Just a few thoughts before I head out to work on earning a new listing on this peacefull Black Friday!

Here is what I recommend goes into your postings, regardless of the content/title/spin of information or your random thoughts of the day...

  1. postingContact Phone Number: you would not believe how many posts I still see that are missing this critical piece of information.. if you do not hand out your number how are they going to call? Well I suppose they could "google" you...
  2. Your Name.. yes there are still folks that just include their corporate/company name and in as much as I am all for branding your business, blogs are also a personal way to reach readers, to form that initial rapport bond and as we do know folks do not bond with companies, they bond with people.
  3. Tags, so many folks seem either afraid to use them or not sure how to use them, but these wonderful words are the key to getting your post seen by the folks inside AR if you are a non rainmaker, or by the world if you are a rainmaker.
  4. The next one, I learned about more recently from one of our ambassadors, groups.  Go in and sign up for groups and when you post your specific content to related groups you will be as they say preaching to the choir! http://activerain.com/groups
  5. Links, yes get those readers back to your website, more specifically to your own IDX link so that you can capture and convert them.
  6. A photo and/or image... a lot of folks, like myself, are visually based and too much text just sends me clicking away.  We are in a visual business and even if you are not sure what image may work, go to google images http://www.google.com/imghp?hl=en&tab=wi and find anything that may go with your theme.
  7. Keep the width baby!  Some posts run WAY to the right.  Readers don't scroll right, they scroll up and down, posts are most likely to clicked away from if they have text that heads out of the window
  8. PLEASE allow the "Allow others to re-blog this post" checkbox, when we are reading and it is awesome, we want the other members to see your wonderful post so please let us share for you.
  9. Number 8 leads to number 9.  If it is NOT yours do not copy and paste it as if it were. no ifs ands or buts here.

  10. tYPoz  please use the wonderful spell checkers that are available to us to double and triple check those spelling mistooks!

I know these are but my ramblings, but they are solely done to help you out.. and if you see my posts having any of the above as challenges, please call me on it too!
