December Closing = A Very Merry Christmas
Closing on two homes in late December may seem like an insane thing to do for many people, but for this home seller/buyer, Christmas 2011 was the best Christmas ever.
Move Along Mr. Grinch-Nothing to Take Here
Unpacking all the Christmas decorations was out of the question. It would've been too crazy to re-pack them all and move them four days after Christmas, so we decided to be minimalists. The two dozen or so plastic bins filled with all our holiday decor went straight from the attic to the storage container in the driveway.
We did make a couple of exceptions. Stockings above the fireplace and a tree with nothing on it but lights and tinsel were allowed, as well as a single wreath hung above the front door. Ba-Bam! Holiday decorating was done in less than 30 minutes.
Presents were also kept to a minimum. We had enough stuff to move already, so it was one special gift apiece and some stocking stuffers. Shopping was a breeze.
A New Tradition?
Guess what? Everyone had a wonderful Christmas (especially the mom)! Maybe we'll keep the tradition going....
