Smilax is pronounced "smile - axe".
This road runs through San Marcos and Vista. It has easy freeway access, a neighborhood produce stand, a few apartments and many large lots. Some of the homes nearby board horses. It is not unusual to have a lot that is over a half of an acre.
Recently there has been an increase in the homes for sale on Smilax. My team has a listing at 522 Smilax. It is a short sale that is awaiting bank approval. The house has three bedrooms, many upgrades and a two car attached garage. It sits on a huge lot with an orchard in the back. There is also a large vegetable garden. One of the fences has a healthy vine that produces a few pumpkins every month.
