We could not entice any of our relatives to come with us to Alinea Restaurant while we were in Chicago. That's because my inlaws are normal people. Grounded individuals who live in the real world. They are not on a search for carmelized honey or Chartogne-Taillet Brut, and they would not consider a tiny little leaf to be a single course for dinner. They would also not spend what probably equates to more than a month's rent for a single meal either.
Nope these people are rational. So, it was very difficult to find a couple to share our table that we managed to snag at the very last possible minute. Thank you, Alinea, for making it possible for those of us who live outside of Chicago and are in town for a limited amount of time, to enjoy your restaurant as well.
