Ray, what's going on with this market? Ray, are houses not selling? Ray, you want me to buy you lunch because of this slow market??? LOL I've heard the all the questions whether I am at a social function, supercenter, or gas station. My reply remains consistent. We are down, but not down drastically. We are in a different market that is depicted from the national media.
Ft. Smith has an up and down market, but a steady market nonetheless. Houses are still moving. Although, not as fast as our seller or we would like for them to move.
Yes, our numbers are down in Residential Sales in Ft. Smith in 2007 in comparison to 2006. They are NOT down drastically. So yes, I decided to give you the numbers for yourself.

The number of residential homes sold 2007 in Ft. Smith were down by 10% from 2006, but the total Dollar Volume was only down by 6%. The Average price per home did increase by 3%.
There are several area's that are in fact reporting a decrease in double figures in all area, but Ft. Smith isn't one of those area. This is a great area to live the "American Dream" of home ownership. We have a nationally recognized area for Affordable Housing.
