You may have come across one of these in your travels through the Rain Showers...a post entitled something like this: My Favorite Posts or My Non-Featured Posts...You know, the ones' the author clearly felt were exceptional, but somehow missed the scrutiny of the Moderators.
Curious, I've sometimes taken the time to read through some of the links on these posts and have often been surprised. I was actually glad to be given a second chance to read them. More than once, some of these "forgotten posts" have been book-marked and referred to later.
Blogger's Choice is a group on Active Rain created solely for the purpose of allowing the individual Blogger to choose what they feel are some of their best Non-Featured Posts. We all know that you can't hit it out of the ball park every time, but there are times that you may feel you did...and very few people ever get to see your Home Run!
Having done an Active Rain Week in Review, I am well aware of the enormous amount of work that it takes to read through hundreds of posts. One week was enough to convince me that we're not paying the Moderators nearly enough! :) They do an excellent job of trying to sift through a monumental amount of material and keep a sense of balance on the dashboard.
So, Help Us Out! It's Time to Step up to the Plate! As the number of members in Active Rain swells to 70,000 soon, it will be increasingly difficult to highlight all the great stuff on this network. Sure, most of us have our subscription lists and our personal methods for trying to read...but if you're like me, you know you've missed some really good stuff from time to time.
SO...Active Rain Bloggers...The Next time you feel you've hit one "out to the bleachers" and have written an excellent post or wanted to share an idea more widely, consider posting to the Blogger's Choice Selection Group.
Another exciting Announcement is that Blogger's Choice has a New Moderator, Midori Miller! You may remember that Midori hosted the First Blogger's Choice spotlight It was very well done. We're so pleased that Midori will be assuming a more active role in growing the membership of the group and encouraging members to blog at their personal best!
