"  The Univeristy of Georgia also has a Visitor's Center opened in 1996 "with a charge to provide a warm welcome to visitors, to collect and provide accurate information about the institution and to aid visitors in accomplishing the purpose of their visit to campus".

Nature lovers can explore our greenways and riverside parks, visit The Founders Memorial Garden "a living memorial to the twelve founders of the Ladies' Garden Club of Athens, the first garden club in America, organized in 1891", and explore The State Botanical Gardens of Georgia "A 313 acre preserve set aside by the University of Georgia to foster appreciation, understanding, and stewardship of plants and nature".
