I have just passed my Brokers exam. I am looking for some advice and guidance on what to do next. I would expect that my options have just grown exponentially however I am not feeling so confident about my choices.
Mostly because I am not quite sure what they are. I am not really happy at my present office and would like to go out on my own. However before I do I would like to get some feedback from some of you who have made the leap to be on your own or to have your own franchise or office.
What kind of leverage do I have now? ....how can I look to increase my commision split if I decided to stay at my present office while I plan and prepare to make my next more?
What exactly does being an associate broker mean ...in money? in self-reliance? in potential to do things without feeling a leash around your collar?
What are the pros and cons of owning your own franchise?
What kinds of costs are associated with opening up your own franchise?
Is there some business plan already out in the ethers of the internet that are for R.E. Brokers?
Is there a sight for rookie brokers to glean years of wisdom off Brokers with expereince...and knowledge?
What kinds of pitfalls or stones are in my path that I should look out for?
I have in my mind a general plan of attack, my business plan can be easily converted into a business plan to run an office and I would like some advice to help me make the right moves.
I would bet that there are a million pieces of excellent advice that some brokers have learned through hard earned experiences. I would prefer to learn from others mistakes than to fall over common stumbling blocks that could easily be avoided.
My Pappie told me .....smart men learn from their mistakes....and wise men listen to them.
Nuff said,
