October 2012 Market Report for Milton MA
For the month of October, 2012, there were 10 single family homes sold in Milton, MA*. The lowest priced home sold for $392,000.00 and the highest priced home sold for $830,000.00. The average sales price for the month was $556,290.
Those numbers are actually down from October 2011, which saw 21 single family homes sold in Milton MA with an average sales price of $585,595.00. Here is a chart showing October home sales in Milton for the past five years.
Those numbers, however, can be deceiving. I suspected that the slowdown in October was due to very brisk sales earlier this year. I was correct. Year to date, from January 1, 2012-October 31, 2012, there were 198 single family homes sold in Milton MA. That is up from 2011 and the chart below shows it is almost at the 2008 level of sales for the same time period.
Being named in 2011 as the second best small town in the United States, plus its proximity to Boston, access to public transportation, good schools and outdoor reacreational opportunities all continue to keep Milton MA as a desirable place to live.
