Santa's Lantern in Salt Lake city Utah

Santa lives in a Lantern in Salt Lake City Utah

The sign on the lantern says so.

This structure is to be found in the City Creek Center on the ground level out in the open air. Quite a change from Santa getting a mere decorated seat somewhere in a store.

Beside Santa's Lantern is a much smaller version which houses some of the attendant elves.  These are responsible for making your bookings to enter Santa's Lantern. What less could you expect?

I shall check back in coming weeks to further observe activity.

Looks like City Creek Center is trying to give Santa more restful accommodation.

At the Sandy City Mall (10400 S State Street) Santa has traditionally had his abode in the NORAD headquarters, where visiting children are informed how North American Defense tracks his journey on Christmas Eve to all the children of the world.

Us Aussies are thoughtful of the reindeer and the heat of the Australian summer at Christmas. We get Santa to rest his reindeer at Cape York (the pointy top of Queensland):their duties are taken over by "Six White Boomers" (large old-man kangaroos) for the Australian run.  Santa even gets to change into shorts and thongs.  And hold the cookies; his preferred bribe there is a tinnie of XXXX, or Fosters or Coopers, or Swan or Cascade or ... In the north end, the Darwin stubbie (two liters) might be considered appropriate.

(Note - Santa gets to America hours after he has done his job in Australia)

Thanks for the Santa update Larry.   I would prefer the tinnie of Fosters too.

If I were Santa and his reindeer I would definitely prefer delivering in Australia.  Fosters, shorts, flip flops and rest for the reindeer? Sounds like a pretty good deal. On behalf of all American believers, thank you for giving Santa a chance to rest up and re-fuel before heading our way!

Jim - they're all good.  It comes down to personal preference and what is available.

Julie - thanks for the translation to avoid confusion in footwear. I've noticed that there are some un-believers over here. It's why they end up with socks and unnderwear.
