South Central Virginia: Weekend Local Christmas Events
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas all throughout South Central Virginia. The lights are being strung, parades are lining up and parties are being planned. Here's a list of this weekend's ocal events in South Central Virginia. We've tried to include the events in the counties of Buckingham, Charlotte, Cumberland, Nottoway and Prince Edward. Friday, November 30th - Photos with Santa at 118 W. Third St. by Antscapephoto.com between 6-9pm. Free 4 x 6 Photo. Call 434-390-6955 for details.
Saturday, Dec. 1st - Pet Photos at Cumberland Animal Hospital between 1-3pm. Bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate and get a free professional photo of your pet with Santa. Toys will be distributed by Cumberland Christmas Mother.
Saturday, Dec. 1st - Dillwyn Volunteer Fire Department Christmas Dance 9pm-1am. "Ten Spot" will provide the music. Admission is $30 per couple and $20 for singles...21 and over only please.
Saturday, Dec. 1st - Breakfast with Santa, Framville Junior Women's Club will be hosting from 7:30 am-9:30 am at Applebee's. Tickets are $5.00 per person.
Saturday, Dec. 1st - LCVA Annual Winter Wonderland Workshop. 10am-12pm on the lower level of LCVA. Free and Open to the Public. This family workshop will be full of holiday crafts. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Saturday, Dec. 1, 7, & 15 - Santa's in the House! Farmville North Pole Open 10 am-3pm at 115 North Main Street. Community Orgainzations will each take a Saturday to run this event with goodies from participating Downtown Farmville eateries. Photo ops with Santa!
Dec. 1st & 2nd Mulberry Hill Plantation Christmas Open House 1pm to 4m. Enjoy and Antebellum Christmas: tour the historic home and grounds, join in with Confederate re-enactors in campfire cooking and living demonstrations. Refreshments will be served with the hopes of a visit from Santa. $5 Admission. For details call 434-454-4312.
Sunday, Dec. 2nd - Farmville Jaycee's Annual Christmas Parade 2 pm
Sunday, Dec. 2nd- Red Hill Christmas Open House 2pm -4pm. Costumed docents will give guided tours of the house and plantation, which has been decked out in traditional greenry. ALso, enjoy Christmas music, sweet and mulled cider from the kitchen. Complimentary admission. (434) 376-2044.
Sunday, Dec. 2nd- Charlotte Court House Christmas Tree Lighting, 5pm. Join in on the fun on the Courthouse Square for the tree lighting, holiday songs and refreshments.
