Why couldn't they just send this to me via electronic signature?

Electronic signatures have become my new normal because of how quickly I can get things done - time is of the essence after all. Not everyone is on board just yet but I've heard rumors of even [some] banks embracing its efficiency! How about that?!

I can't imagine my business without DocuSign and, yes, I find myself wishing frequently "Can't they just send this to me via electronic signature?" You could say I've even become painfully aware of its absence, while conducting business and, even more so, in everyday life.

I have, what my girls lovingly call, a "freaky elbow". Looong story how that happened but the abbreviated version goes like this:

busy Realtor mom juggles purse, phone and a then-2-year-old while dropping off her car for a recall service, attempts to step aside to let people pass, misses row of chairs behind her, falls in slow motion, dropping everything but the 2-year-old and saves head of same while crashing onto tile floor, elbow first

My elbow was not broken and other than getting banged up a bit, it was fine - or so I was told. Well, it wasn't fine. Over time it turned "freaky looking" and quite painful. After hoping for months it would just go away on its own, I realized I finally listened to hubby and promised to get it checked out again.

So I saw my primary care physician who sent me to the orthopedist who needed me to get an MRI done and sent me to physical therapy.

I had to arrive 15 minutes early for each visit to fill out 'some' paperwork which turned out to be pretty much the same paperwork I had just filled out and signed at my last doctor's appointment. Each visit I watched the nurse/medical assistant input all the information I had just filled out into the computer. Wow. What a waste of my time and their time and what a waste of paper!

Why couldn't they just send this to me via electronic signature?

Amen to that.  I hate filling out those papers and I imagine with a banged up elbow it was the most comfortable thing for you to do and repeat either.

Hi Tammy, I had to be 15 min. early for each appointment just to I filled out the same paperwork 4 times. It could have been much easier and less time-consuming..

Hi John, it's coming ... and it will make a lot of stuff easier to take care of.

Hi Andrea, glad your elbow is okay.  I agree, those forms are a nightmare.  I went for a couple of tests and the office sent me the paperwork in advance so that was helpful.  But you are right, change is a coming!

Ouch Andrea!! I have to admint I not gone the route of electronic signatures yet.  But I envision lots of applications and am thinking of the ridiculous pile of repetitive paperwork that comes home with my girls every September....! Enjoy the day!

Good morning Andrea,

Yes, those forms would have saved a lot of time waiting in the Doctor's office(s) if you could have done them from your computer!

Hi Amada, I'm working on it. Physical therapy twice a week to hopefully avoid surgery. But, hey, it wasn't broken and it's my left arm - so I can still function.

Hi Brenda, all the paperwork from school also makes me wish I could just sign it electronically. It's A LOT!

Hi Lisa, it would have saved a lot of time and paper. It's so redundant - I think that's what bothers me the most. Fill it out once and send it to all who need a copy, it would be much more efficient and would save a few trees in the process.

Andrea, I have "learning how to use docusign" on my list to do in December, during down time.

Andrea ~ I hope you are healing quickly! Ouch! I agree, the repetitive documents required for each doc is a pain in the butt. Docusign would be an awesome application in the medical field. I bet our records would be more accurate as well.

Andrea, I think they make you fill out those papers over an over again just to see whether you filled them out correctly the first time! :-) what really gets me is when the doctor comes in and asks all the same questions again, can't they read? Hope your elbow will get better and return to normal!

Hi Connie, you will have it figured out in no time! And once you start, you will wonder how you ever worked without it.

Hi Diane, thank you, I hope so, too. Having to fill out the same docs 4 times in a row really makes you wish they would use e-signatures already.

Hi Silvia, now that would explain it! It's just so inefficient if all they do is enter it into the computer anyway.. why not get it signed electronically and have a copy of the documents uploaded into my file? Thank you!

Hi Cheryl, thank you! It went well and I do believe I'm seeing/feeling improvement. Great to meet you!
