BrokerIPTV: We are on the floor at Inman Connect New York 2008 and I am with Jon Washburn the original founder of ActiveRain
and Jon may be could we just go in to the success ActiveRain has had
out and how you think is going to play in the success brokers in the
future?
Jon Washburn: I think blogging
is a key factor to the success of brokers and I think it is kind of
next way of a marketing. We are going to see a transition from lead
generation, lead capture offer broker web sites to more blogging on
more relationship basically. More of a Web 2.0 world.
BrokerIPTV: And your success you have had with localism,
your product its a beta product key used on there, video, photos etc
you see that is something that is really growing in the future?
Jon Washburn: Localism is a key part of our business. That is the
really the main part that motivates our members and to get the consent
out to the local consumer and right now localism is really just it
really just beta, it is almost like a place holder for the content, I
am working on redesign hopefully should be out soon that will I just
like a whole transformation, a whole recreation of a localism brand.
BrokerIPTV: How many brokers do you have now on the ActiveRain network?
Jon Washburn: I am not sure. I think we have a 64,000 members and
not too many brokers. May be I think may be 5,000 actual real estate
brokerages. May be 30,000 agents some where around there.
BrokerIPTV: Great. Very successful, appreciate your talking with us.
Jon Washburn: My pleasure. Thanks Jon.

Hey We are glad to bring relevant and exciting information about the industry. Don't forget to subscribe to www.BrokerIPTV.com and my Blog her on ActiveRain.
Blogging will sort the wheat from the chaff :>)
I love Active Rain. It has helped placed me on Google and other search engines. Now I am trying to make that transition from Search Engines to Sales. Hope to be one of the many people who have done the same on this site. Great blog.
Mark - Thanks for sharing the video of Jonathan. I am anxious to see the re-designed Localism sometime relatively soon. It sounds exciting!
That will be good- Localism does need some "redesign".... I also wanted to comment on your profile photo- I like it...its cool!
@ John thanks for the love, I beleive that Localism on active rain as well as in the world of blogs will do quite well.
@ Lanre, there is no question that active rain has doen more than any other single venue, to bring brokers in to the realm of blogging...most people would NEVER go out and do this, say on a wordpress blog. "Googled Me" is my single largest source of business other than refferal.
@ Kim , thanks for the comment on the photo ;>)

Great post. I also think blogging can be a very big part of everyon's success.
Thanks
I feel like I just don't understand Localism. I've written a couple of posts recently that I was sure would place on Localism, yet they did not. I'll have to do some more research on what causes a post to appear there.
Mark - thanks for posting words/summaries as well as your videos. Some of us want to read rather than have the sound of the videos - this lets us know whether the content is of sufficient interest to see the video.
Ardell - my impression is that you just have to check Consumers in the box under your post, and then fill in the additional geographic blanks that appear at the bottom of your list of groups. I thought everything then got posted on localism, not that there were any "selections from above".
Man...
I am really enjoying these.
Thanks for sharing them :)
Go local...Very...Very...Local :)
TLW...ROAR!
Waiting for the improvements on Localism...and know they will be good, and agree RE benfit a lot with sites like AR.
Thanks for sharing

`Well words are still very important-most important, and you are right, when you say that you would read first to determine whether to watch. Also, depending on the subject/interview...links to relevant support material ADD to the user experience and can be viewed while one listens. Google will and has started a program to transacride and index the audio to words of all video on the net...so everyone will have to learn to speak in very WORD relevant context in future interviews and any video that you produce.
