Sunday's Photo Part II...Historic Home in Parowan

By
Real Estate Agent with Aubrey and Associates Realty

I have been playing with some photos of my mother's home town, Parowan.  I have been playing with some different effects on some pictures that I have taken through the years.  This particular photo was taken in the dead of Winter with a lot of snow on the ground.  Something we currently do not have.  I hope that you like what I came up with for this historic home in Parowan.

Tony & Darcy:  It is interesting that this home is in your mother's home town of Parowan.  To me it "looks" like a "grandma house."  I love the trees, the porch, and the "sided" look.  Everything here in Texas is BRICK... very cold-appearing, in my opinion, but, then again, I am from up north... where most homes ARE sided.

I guess it's no surprise that the house looks like a lot of the houses here.... I like what you did with the photo!

It's wonderful when homes you grew up in or with, find their way to historical lists.  I discovered that the house I was raised in made the list in our city.  I was glad of that.  But, the current owner painted the formerly white victorian with green trim, to a brick red. . .Sadly I can't even relate to it.

Tony,

The snow really adds a lot to the overall effect of this shot. :)

Karen Anne, It has always been one of my favorite houses and settings for a house with the trees, it has been well maintained through the years.  We have a mix of brick, stucco and sided homes in our area which is nice.

Brenda, Thank you!

Myrl, It is hard to see homes like the one that you grew up in changed so dramatically.  The home that I grew up in was a historic house, but never placed on any register so it was razed and a strip mall now occupies the lot.  That is really hard to reconcile!

Steve, Thank you!
