This is my sister's home up in the country. She bought this house and the previous owner had painted everything dark blue.....Yuck! It looked like a Toronto Maple Leafs fan lived there. She still wanted country but I talked her into going a bit more contemporary. Out with the ducks and hearts and dried flowers country and in with a more understated country. I hope you like it...she does.

After: Painted with Benjamin Moore Buckhorn CC-510

and Maple leaf red 2084-20

Before: Awful Blue

I would call it, "Sophisticated Country."  It is best to incorporate a "theme" through the decor rather than through paint/wall paper or carpet.  It is much easier to change the decorations than to repaint or re-carpet.

Great transformation, I like the way the wood tones from the bed now blend in with the ceiling fan.. Well done

Kristina:That is definitely what we did throughout her whole house. It would be very easy to change the theme of the home without repainting it. I like the "sophisticated country" label.

Brenda: I personally don't like ceiling fans, but she wanted to keep it since the bedroom gets hot and they don't have central air.
