DO YOU CONSIDER BLOGGING A PART OF YOUR JOB?

Typing

When I began blogging over two years ago, I simply went at it blindly not having a clue of what I was doing.  I read through a lot of posts out there and became familiar with what people were writing about.  As I have stayed with this blogging phenomenon, I have come to really love it.

While I have learned a lot over the past few years, I have found my voice here in the Rain.  My posts are sometimes very random but I truly write what I feel like at the time that I am sitting there eyeballing my computer screen.  I keep my posts varied from Localism to industry related to personal and sometimes just plain goofy ones.

An unexpected aspect of blogging has been the business and the referrals that it has brought me.  When this began happening, that is when blogging took on a new life for me.  I thought, "this stuff really works and I need to keep working it!"  So the blogging saga began.

For over two years now, I have done my best to learn how to improve in the blogging world, have learned about SEO and a myriad of other Internet savvy things.  Bottom line I now understand that blogging is a part of my job description.  Without a doubt, this is one of those tasks that I have incorporated into the fabric of my business.

Blogging has definitely become a big part of my job.  I have embraced the practice and have come to really love my home here in Active Rain Land.  So yes, this is part of my job and certainly one that I look forward to each day!

Is blogging a part of your job description?

The funny thing is how many local agents tell me how they are amazed by my marketing and blog, I invite them in, tell them how to start, and they NEVER DO.  Everyone wants the results without the effort.  Great job blogging, keep it going!

Hi Paula! Blogging is definitely part of my job description. In this day and age, with all of the trends towards digital marketing, I don't really know how anybody can avoid it! There are so many obvious benefits to blogging in a professional capacity. It seems like you've really taken the practice up in stride, much more than I have -- at the end of the day, I still consider it a "job," and am always looking for ways to reduce my "blogging friction," so to speak.

Been doing it socially (facebook) for a while, now starting to write a weekly article on different topics to share on multiple platforms.  Promissory Notes are getting popular, and more people need to know about them!

Hi Paula... I don't see as much blogging as part of my "job" per se... as I manage a business (important semantics here...), so you could be the CEO and the CMO of your business. But blogging (business blogging, that is) is an integral part of your marketing strategy as one of the big Ps (promotion) of the 4Ps of marketing. It is akin to 'advertising' for the old school folks. Social media as we love to call it, is really a permutation of mass & target marketing.

Then you make decisions about the 'mix' of social media into 'other' marketing tools you may have in promotion your business based on your business objectives.

I use to blog on a regular basis and then stopped.  However, your comment about your "voice"  reminded me one of the reasons I like blogging is to express myself.  Thanks.

Like it or not we are in the information age and we must do many things to be sure we reach prospective client.  Blogging is one of those things we must do along with participating on social media sites.

Hello Paula, blogging has definitely become a part of my business and each year I see the results of those efforts continue to grow.  It's not always easy to be disciplined about it and if I've slacked off because I'm too busy I actually feel guilty about it.  I get a lot of attention from blogging and have no intention of changing that...congrats on the gold star!!!
