It never fails. You spend hours surfing different internet websites, you spend weekends looking at homes with your buyer agent. You find the house that meets your needs and you shout, "Eureka! We've found it!"
Your buyer agent gets excited, scours the Multiple Listing Service to prepare comparables for you. Your lender prepars your Estimated Closing Costs worksheet so that you're clear on your down payment, closing costs, and estimated monthly payment.
And finally, you utter the words that make any buyer agent in a hot market with low inventory cringe, "I want to take some time to think about it."
Sure, no problem. Just understand that when there's a shortage of homes, you may not have the luxury of time. The Alexandria VA real estate market is way past simmering, it's showing signs of starting to boil right over into another sellers market. That means that there are more buyers than homes for sale.
