I visited the site some years ago and it was still dreary to comprehend what happened there. One of my daughters refuses to go, thinking of the men who found their graves below and were never recovered. Thank you for offering this remembrance.

In 1941, America had a clearly defined Enemy.  We knew who we were at War with, and what the objective was.  We fought, we won.

    Today we are at War in Afghanistan, and it looks like we are going into Syria.  For what reason?  Who are we fighting?  How will we know when we are Victorious?
