Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Advantage

Only one person has been in our Searcy Board of REALTORS longer than I have and that is only by a few years.  She is Letain DeVore, a super successful agent who has done more than 33 years, which is my served time.  We had our annual Christmas party this week and I suggested we take a picture of ourselves and our children!

Second generation realtors

So there we were, all gussied up (Southern expresseion) for a party and Letain and I stood proudly with our kids who are now in the real estate profession with us.  In case you can't tell, that's me on the left, my daughter Valerie Canepa next and then Roger DeVore and his mother, Letain DeVore.  They also had me swear in the new officers and Valerie and Roger were two of the new officers!  Roger is incoming President and Valerie is incoming Secretary.

Nice break from all that old Searcy history stuff.  Keep on braggin'. Ya'll deserve it.

I have to mention the motto of the realtor who sold my house in Sunnyvale, CA. Sunnyvale has a population of 140,081 (2010) and there is very little space left for new build.

Her motto was "Selling Sunnyvale by the Yard".

Recently, a 20 acre plot was finally sold. It was a site of a cornfield and the owner brothers sold corn from a stand there for a long time. Read about it here. This place was a mile from where I lived.

The first building on the site will be 51 new single family homes built on 6,000 sq. ft. plots. Starting price will be $1,3M

What did the brothers get for the land when they sold?  I am assuming they did sell?

The brothers have passed on so their heirs are the ones who sold. The last figute I remember was $2M per acre.

I"m with Don, I don't call it braggin, just stating the facts.  Y'all have a right to be proud of your chilluns.  (since we're speaking Southern here)...

Where was the party held?

Barbara:  do you ever wear other colors besides black and white?  Just askin.

Don, that is typical.  Second generations believe in spending that money.  LOL

Anita, the party was at Searcy Country Club.  Wearing black and white is SO easy.  I may be related to Johnny Cash.  Did he sprinkle his black outfit with a little white.

You looked very nice Ms. B...You can tell how pleased you are to have Val by your side.  Looks like a couple of proud moms have passed on not only happy faces but some responsibilities too.  Congratulations to Val and all of the incoming officers.  It is always nice to see smiling faces.
