Everything OLD Is NEW Again ~ The New MySpace

New MySpaceWith so many social media platforms out there, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Google+ so many REALTORS and even just non techy folk ask should I be on all of them? I just suggest dip your toe into the ones that seem to make sense to you, that you enjoy, possibly get something out of them. Also with time, you can't maintain ALL of them all the time, as there are not enough hours in the day to touch them all constantly.

That being said, do you want to get more depressed for your day? There's ANOTHER one looming along out there in the shadows, a blast from the past even. It is called the New MySpace. Remember Facebook predecessor MySpace?? It was so graphical and you could insert music videos and tons of animated GIF image files. It slowly lost interest with the masses as the simpler Facebook came along.

It's back in a new form with a Justin Timberlake promotion with horizontal navigation and very visual with a canvas for multimedia, photos, videos, music and text. It has this "music on demand" functionality with probably access to more music than any platform out there. It has a magazine cover feel to it and some people are amazed by it, others confused. You'll make your CONNECTIONS to others through shared interest in music or content.

Enough of the little I know about this platform but I will leave you this link and the video.

The link is to leave your email address to get started with an invitation to  THE NEW MYSPACE when it is ready. (link works for Chrome, Firefox, and Safari browsers)

The video, a sneak peek. Don't get overwhelmed by all this. This platform might be the most fun one yet!! Who knows?? Social media keeps evolving.

I guess if it's true in fashion, it can be true of social media too. I just don't know if I can handle another one.

My kids both cringed when I told them about your post about MySpace! I showed them the new MySpace clip, I think they may be softening. They said they have to get rid of all the perverts that ruined the original and starred on ABC's Dateline...

I did a presentation yesterday for North Texas educators. Unanimously, the group felt that the massive amount of time spent on social media today, is impacting the quality of our communication skills and the quality of life in general.

I do believe that social media can be the biggest time zapper that is out there. I am getting rid of some for the New Year. Good luck to all.
