After a long day in the car yesterday and working at my computer I felt the need for some exercise.
Sure, I could have gone to the gym downstairs in my building, a handy facility to be sure. But with the stars twinkling, the air fresh and hills beckoning, why stay indoors?
San Francisco is a great place for walking, especially in my area in the north end of town--hills for exercise and tremendous views; friendly neighborhoods like upper Polk and the Fillmore; beautiful homes, both large and small. Neighbors are out walking, too, those with dogs and others returning home from dinner at one of the fine neighborhood restaurants.
So off I headed, along Jackson from Van Ness Avenue to Lyon Street, returning on Pacific. 45 minutes later, I was home, well exercised and smiling, happy to have seen so much beauty in so few minutes.
I hope you enjoy this slide show of holiday lights!
