Picking up the phone and calling the other agent can be the key to building a relationship and getting to SOLD! In our digital age it is far too easy to simply send emails and text messages to communicate our needs. Of course this is an essential part of any real estate sale but making an extra effort to build a relationship with the other agent and key players in the transaction is equally important.
I hate to admit that I have closed many sales with email as the main form of communication! With that said, the best transactions have been the ones where I have either picked up the phone or gone the extra mile to meet with the other agent and built a relationship upfront. When a relationship exists it is much more easy to address issues as they arise and resolve them in a win/win manner - it is not us vs. them.
I closed a lease transaction yesterday that was one of the better professional experiences I have seen in quite some time! The commission was low but the communication, trust, and results were all excellent. In short, it involved a few phone calls, all the required paperwork, and a final meeting in person to deliver the signed lease and checks. The relationship building was a plus for all involved - most importantly the client!!!
