Is it smart to list my home during the winter?

People can find 10 reasons to list in the winter and 20 not to list in the winter..............if you're ready to sell and are a motivated seller, there is a motivated buyer out there.

It would be extremely smart to list now if your home is in very good condition and well-priced. Most of the inventory around us is in bad shape or way over-priced. We have inventory, but it's mostly junk and buyers are frustated.

If an owner is thinking of selling, it is for a reason.  The question to ask is whether you want to sell your home.  It's extremely hard to sell when it is not on the market. 

One thing people never think about in listing their home in winter or moving in winter.  It's cold.  It's snowy.  House stays cleaner when people wear boots and take them off at the door.

Jared- very good information!  You can always find reasons to or not to list.  List if you want or need to sell your house.  Simple enough. 

Good point. The poconos being a vacation destination we can be just as busy in the winter (once the ski season starts) as we are in the summer (well almost)

Serious, pre-approved buyers are out there in the winter.  They will already be in their new homes by spring.  

Inverntory is so low right now, and buyers are out in droves.  Good houses are going fastm winter is a great time to have your house listed...

Price it right and it'll sell. Every time!!

With the low inventory these days, if they're willing to price it right, get it on the market asap. If they're going to entertain and have parties and people over all through the holiday season, maybe they'd be better off waiting til after the Super Bowl.
