I am so lost- can someone please help me find my way!!??

By
Real Estate Agent with Weichert Realtor's Southern Coast

It is now my third post on active rain, and I am somewhat lost. I wrote my first blog-got some comments from it from other members sent directly to my email. I then wrote the second blog---got comments again sent to my email.

BUT--If I want to go back and find the blog that I wrote, where the heck does it go? Now I know that I can go to my profile area and see the blog that I wrote. I assumed that the ones  written would line up as they were recieved on the page when I sign in.

As of  yet- the only place I can see my own blog is when I go to my profile and look for it there under my name. The Big Question---where do these blogs go when they are submitted---and how does other people see them?

Do me a favor--if you are reading this right now--comment at the end- and tell me where it is that you were able to read my post.

I hope to be able to figure this whole thing out and add some good content to this group as time goes on. First --I would just like to know how it gets read and by whom---I am just a tad confused. \

Ok- I am depending on all of you to help me out of this confusion by taking the time to "talk to me" . It gets lonely here when you are in the dark!!

Hi Debra! Welcome! You're gotten started on the right track. What you should do is add Tags to your articles. I see your Tag Cloud is empty. The tags serve as your keywords and are searchable. So, if you wrote on Things to do in North Myrtle Beach and put that in a tag, it's searchable. If you search, you will find that blog and all others tagged Things to do in North Myrtle Beach.

Also, our blogs are syndicated to the public via localism. You can search on your tags in google and find your blogs.

Hope this helps.

Debra:  I'm still  new but I have played around with it some.  I clicked on Blogs at the top and I scroll down and I saw your blog post.  When I go in to check what I have done I go to My Home and I think on the left hand side there is something on my posts or blogs???

Hope that helped some.

Hi Debra there are a number of places to find your blog on your home page.  I located it on the blogs dashboard so it is showing up.  I can't wait to see what else you can tell us.  I haven't been here all that long (just since Aug) but I can tell you it has changed my marketing and I am getting a little business out of it.

Online Marketing:) I have 7 favorite groups that I read regularly.  When you wrote your post, you checked off the groups you wanted to post on.  Folks can, also, click on Blogs at the top of the page for quick access to new blogs.  Hope that helps:)

It's a Good Life!

I start by reading 'today' blogs on the home page of Activerain.  Depending on how many blogs are being posted you can find your post on the home page or (if its a busy day) on the next page.

Hi Debra,

I am reading you off the main page for blogs.  When you post your blog you have options of what group you want to post to (up to 5 I belive) and localism is an option.  Click on groups at the top of your page and check out diferent ones.  There are tons to choose from.  Join some by clicking join or subcribe.  When you find some blogs that you enjoy reading, you can subcribe to those as well and they will pop up on your main page.  You can also unscribe later if you wish.  Your home page will show you everything you have commented on and click on home page and blog to see your old blogs.  Hope this helps and does not confuse you.

Hi Debra, I've only been in AR for a little over a month.  I just learned recently about the tags, so now I use them.

If you haven't joined yet Debra, try Active Rain Newbie.

Also, there is a blog

Do You Want to be the "Featured Member" in your Area?

by Brad Andersohn that is a must read. I only came across it a few days ago, but I promised myself I would share to anyone in need. In fact, you should just subscribe to his blog.

Comment on blogs (at least 10 a day) and blog on topics in your area. There is lots to learn. I just joined January 7 and I am number 5 in my area already. If you put in the time, you will get the results.

Most of all, have fun. I do!

Hi Debra -

Hopefully you've gotten the answer to your questions but if not, let me see if I can help.

First of all, you receive comments via e-mail - this s a way for the system to ensure that you see your comments.  If you click on you "My Blog" page, you can see each blog post that you've written and the number of comments you received for each post.

When you post a blog, you can select up to 5 groups to send that post to.  For this post, for example, you selected to send it to Realtors, The Art of Marketing You, Online Marketing, Internet Lead Geneation, and Agent Referral groups.  If you go to any of those groups, you will be able to scroll through all posts that were sent to that group and find the one that you wrote.  You will also be able to see how many comments you received for that post as well as how many people actually viewed the post.

I hope that helps!  Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions I can answer for you! Happy blogging!
