I've been seeing an "explosion" in the real estate blog world in the last few months with new bloggers springing up everywhere.  Even seasoned bloggers are adding new blogs or switching platforms and domains.  I am hoping we will see some of these newer blogs on the tour this month, in addition to those who've been around a bit longer.

For the last few months, we've run blog tours of ActiveRainer's 'other blogs,' or the blogs they maintain outside of ActiveRain.  Some of us, it seems, are crazy enough to maintain 2 (or more!) real estate blogs.  My other blog, for example, is mioaklandcounty.com.

So, here is the invitation.  The January Blog Tour is now officially underway.

Here are 4 posts you can look back on if you are curious about what has taken place in the past.  But, really, its quite simple.  The benefits to the participants are that we often give each other feedback on site issues and you create incoming links to your own site every time you leave a comment.  I also usually pick up some new ideas for future posts.

Here is how it works:

  • Put a link in the comments here with your 'other' blog's URL.
  • If you have a post that you think we would particularly enjoy, use that as the landing page.  But the main page is just fine too.
  • I will stop by any blog that is posted here.
  • If you post your own blog here, I ask you to visit at least the two other blogs that sign up immediately before you.   Of course, you are welcome to visit more.
  • If you add your blog early in the comments, you'll want to stop back later  to check out the new  additions.
  • When you are out visiting, leave a comment to let them know you stopped by.
  • Optional: You might consider adding someone to your blogroll.  If you don't have an outside blog, you could add them to your "favorites" on your blog settings or as an associate.

Help me get out of Michigan!  We had an ice storm yesterday and snow today. Join us before January 22nd to take place in the fun!

If you find out anything interesting while you are out there, report back here and let the rest of us know so that we don't miss it...

If you want to make sure you don't miss future blog tours, join blog tourists. If you are a real estate professional and you are not a member of ActiveRain, you should sign up here.  It is FREE and it will change the way you do business.

Bon Voyage!

60 Comments on Help Me Escape the Icy Michigan Weather: Join the January Blog Tour!

JAN

If you want to escape the cold weather don't come to Texas. It is a pleasant 28 degrees. The good news it the ice is gone but snow is in the forecast for Wednesday. If you could please keep all the cold weather you can up there. We are not use to it. This time of year the high temperature should be in the 50's. Stay Warm!

Sadie's here! She's curled up asleep next to me, not very happy that it was 52 yesterday and topping out at 33 today. But, at least we got the 2.5 inches of rain yesterday -- and not today when we'd have a year's worth of snow or - worse - ice.

Take a visit to Sadie's Take on Delaware on this tour.

Have a great tour!

I love the blog tour!   EasternCTRealEstate is my blog!   Come visit.  We've had a very very mild winter so far but temperature is dropping like a rock today. So tonight I will get my bankie out and do some blog touring!  ( And PS:  NO snow this winter in Connecticut - none, nada, zippo)

OK, Damion's blog is nice and peaceful I like that. Does that make sense? No overload on graphics. Rich's blog is awesome with color, very tasteful, I love Linda's I had seen it before, very well done.

My question is this: what are those icons lined up at the bottom of Rich's er Sparky's blog?  That is the first time I have seen that. I've seen one or two, linking to technorati or digg etc.

Kristal's is beautiful. Of course!

First stop - snowy Denver (glad it's there and not here!), thanks to Kristal Kraft. Great site, as expected, but I especially like the info on this one post.

On to the next ones on the tour.

I have several of my own - take your pick if you haven't been before - would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks, Carole LOL

Linda's Eastern CT blog was great fun - know that area a bit from living back east - great pics.

Toby - enjoyed spending time in that part of Ohio. I know Cincinnati and Marietta but that's it.

Especially liked your tech blog, Damion (wasn't logged in so didn't leave a comment)

Sparky - I think you are being modest about the talent. Love the site.

Maureen M.'s site is off to a good start. Some great info.

Maureen F. - great tour, and thanks for encouraging new bloggers to participate.

Boy, seems like the weather is on everyone's mind these days. I have even been complaining about the cold here in California. LOL

Wow - I just checked out all the other blogs listed in all these comments, and I'm a bit afraid to put my other one out here.  I am so many lightyears BEHIND on the blogging thing.......I do have another blog, that I want to be all consumer content.  Sometimes I feel like I'm doing okay, and other times I feel like I'm floundering.  So, at the risk of baring it all, I invite suggestions, etc. on this one - Real Estate Ramblings in NH and Maine

Linda - I LOVE the header picture on your blog!!  Of course I would, look where I live!

Kristal - Your blog is GORGEOUS, as I would have expected it would be.

All these blogs are wonderful looking!  How do you decide which type of blog to have - what host to use or platform to use?  Still learning and so far to go......

Thanks,
Ann

Maureen,

Sorry I can't help with the weather. It is bitter cold here. My other blog REtrade needs "TLC"

Blanca it is overwelming. Showing properties is interfering with my blogging. That is still what I do for a living. Today I have seriously been thinking about hiring a ghost writer to write blogs for me.

Okay this is just a placeholder while I go on a blog tour. This is quite a line up! I've already been to Brian B.s NelaLive site. That's a good one. It's eclectic and I like eclectic. Be back soon!

I'm back but I haven't finished

Maureen your blog looks awesome. Great articles too. The problem is I start reading them and don't move on to the nest site. It takes me forever! Did you just add another column this morning?

Toby: I like the Sadie Dog Blog. I can't think of a better touring companion than a Boxer. The site is looking good!

Carole: I wasn't gone that long (see comments below) Only 2 days. And where is your blog? I was gonna stop by and do some trash talkin'.

Kristal: Of course yours serves as an example to us all! Hopefully mine will look that good in ten years.

Hey, I don't want this to be intimidating to anyone. Really.  There are some very experienced bloggers here and quite a few that are new this month.  Unfortunately for me those new ones look lots better than mine ;->  So nobody should be afraid to throw their hat in the ring.  And if you are not ready this month, just go visiting the others and add your blog next month.  We don't bite.  I promise.  Blog touring should be fun!

Hey Maureen,

Thanks again for organizing "the tour".

We FINALLY finished our new blog and uploaded all of our old posts.  Still a few more tweaks here and there... but it is basically done.  I didn't realize that we had been posting since 2004, it has really flown by.

Here is the URL: www.hismove.com/blog

Rich/Sparky, Mark/Buckwheat loved, absolutely loved your blog.  It's clean, uncluttered, the graphics are great.  Great work.  I haven't visited the others yet, so please don't anyone take offense.  =)

As for weather, we're holding up nicely in Miami if anyone wants to visit. Quick!  Before hurricane season returns.

What a marvelous idea to take the tour!  My snowy Michigan neighborhood is also beautifully blanketed in many layers of white snow; still beautiful to look at, it hasn't gotten dirty looking yet.  I'm new to the Active Rain Community, but I always enjoy a visit to your blog and just love the fact that you're in Michigan!

What a great group of blogs.   OK, you have all provided me with the inspiration to get out there and get a decent blog going.  I am taking suggestions, what is the best way to go?  Will I need to know HTML (I don't)?  Where can I find assistance?  Who can I pay to do this for me?

Thanks,

What a smorgasbord of delicious blog tidbits and inspiration. Where on EARTH do you folks find these graphics? Some of you must never leave home without a camera...there's a thought. I admit, I visited ALL of the blogs mentioned here, though did not comment on all. Saw a lot to like, I'll be back ;^). Started to mention here, but it's looking like a separate post.

Here's my first attempt Views on Sedona Blog at Sedona-Blog.com. Be kind, it still has training wheels.

Also, the P2A blog platform is still in beta so no support. Still cannot figure out how to post graphics properly.

So many great role models here! Thanks.

Oh -forgot the original topic...but if you toured to Sunny Arizona today, you'd find it not so. Woke this morning to the sound of ice hitting the windows. By the time the sun was up, the entire golf course here was frosted with SNOW (I know, not such a big deal for you, but not too common here). It is true that it was mostly gone by noon, but we've had flurries again since then. It's still a little easier to take than the winter weather in most of the country. The sun's peeking back out again as I write this. Gotta love the high desert life.
