While some brave shoppers headed out on Black Friday and joined the online frenzy during Cyber Monday, the rest of us still have a bit of last minute gift-getting left to do. While you are trying to squeeze in shopping trips to collect presents for significant others, children, extended family members and pets, don’t forget that your custom home also has a wish list of its’ own.

#1. A Caffeine Buzz – During those dreaded zombie-like mornings, your home (and all of its beloved residents) is in need of a serious wake-up call. Not only will a coffee bar energize your kitchen, but it also creates additional space for morning activities. Rather than fighting over valuable counter space, you can have a separate area dedicated solely to coffee consumption. For this space, consider a coffee or espresso machine (for a perfect cup, try the Miele Built-In Coffee System), a small sink, trashcan, cabinet space for java essentials and a mini fridge for milks and creamers. Depending on your love for caffeine, your coffee nook can range from a single serving station, to something Starbuck’s would envy.

#2. A Way To Keep It Cool – Besides a full-size fridge in your kitchen, new home builders Tampa Florida can add beverage coolers to game rooms, home gyms, and man caves. The Sub-Zero WS-30 Wine Fridge can chill up to 147 bottles of vino, keeping each one perfectly balanced in temperature and flavor. With Robern’s M Series Cabinet, you can even keep things cool in the bathroom. Hidden inside a mirror, the cabinet offers a small, concealed fridge for facial creams, nail polish, bottled water and medicines that need to stay at a certain temperature.

#3. A Way To Stay Warm – Your home can be quite indecisive, wanting things ice-cold one moment and then piping-hot the next. While a toasty fireplace is a no-brainer, another great option is a Viking Warming Drawer. Viking comes to the rescue as you prep and cook meals, offering additional heated space to keep your food in before dinner is served. In the bathroom, getting out of a steamy shower is much less unnerving when you have heated towel bars - Amba Towel Warmers offer an impressive and stylish collection.

#4. An Opportunity To Show Off – Every home wishes that it had more display space. For the home that loves cooking and culinary creations, pasta drawers are all the rage. Rather than using glass containers (which take up additional counter space), these drawers get the job done. Alternating between tri-colored, whole grain and enriched macaroni products will spice up a neutral kitchen by adding little pops of color. These drawers also provide storage for potatoes or onions. Further boost display space by adding built-in shelving and glass cabinet doors for items that you want to show off.

#5. A Little Bit Of Quiet Time – Rather than a spacious study, homes now want a smaller, more efficient area dedicated to work and school studies. The pocket office or homework nook has been showing up throughout new homes in Tampa, and older home are envious. It provides a secluded work area, yet still allows family members to stay connected. Read our past blog to learn more about the benefits of adding a homework nook to your home.

Just as children crave this year’s hottest toys and games, your home also favors trending items. While Little Jonny hopes to find a new iPad Mini under the tree and Dad wants to unwrap a set of golf clubs, your home is wishing for at least one of these items. Building a custom home is the perfect opportunity to make your home happy by giving it everything on its wish list (as well as yours). Thank you Cindy! The coffee bar is a great addition to the kitchen, and we have even built one in a bedroom also.
