If Only I Was a Best Buy Geek
Having problems with you computer? I have and it was not pretty. My old laptop crashed (as it did below) and I ordered a new one. The new one was not new--no box, but it had the directions--it crashed three times before I sent it back. Now I have a new one and so far it is doing fantastic. Only wish I had purchased a computer with Windows 8--they are awesome!
If Only I Was a Best Buy Geek. I have had so many computer problems lately that I would give almost anything to be a Best Buy Geek. First my old laptop crashed and needed a visit to get a diagnosis by the Geeks. Then my one year old desktop starting shutting down all on its own, pretty much whenever it felt like it. I lose all patience and if I had a gun it would be a really dead computer. So back I go to see the Geeks again.
If only I was a Best Buy Geek. They have lots of girls being geeks now and the geeks don’t look quite so geeky. They no longer all wear the white shirt and skinny black tie and black rim glasses. But one thing is the same with all these types of specialists. They are not intimidated with my hardware or my software problems and act like it is no big deal. They take it in stride and don’t get upset like I do when the equipment isn’t working properly.
If only I was a Best Buy Geek. They always seem to know or strongly suspect what the problem could be. They look on me with a little pity that I couldn’t figure it out for myself. Most of them are very young people with a high energy level willing to take on the challenge to help people like me.
If only I was a Best Buy Geek I would take it in stride and keep my cool too. I would know what the problem was immediately and never have to lug it into a store. I would be able to help my friends with their computers and not ever feel the frustration this real estate lady has felt over the last couple of weeks. I might as well get used to it though. I just don’t fit the profile to become a Geek.
