2012 - My Favorite Redesign Project. Home Staging & Redesign Minneapolis MN

At the end of each year I like to look back and think about the projects I have worked on. I had some that were great, some that were easy, some that were tough and of course I had my favorites or most memorable projects. 

At the completion of each project I have had so much fun and gotten so involved that it feels like I have given birth to a child and it is my favorite. We really shouldn't have favorite children but how can you not?  For 2012 I had a few:

1) Favorite Home Staging New Construction,

2) Favorite Redesign Project and,

3) Most Meaningful Project

So here is the second of my three '2012 Year In Review' posts: My Favorite Redesign Project! 

This project was so much fun! First of all it was a lake home about an hour outside of Minneapolis so I got to spend the entire beautiful summer day at the lake!

Second, when working on Redesign projects the purpose is to use as much of the owners items as possible. You take what they have and 'Redesign'. Well this client had the COOLEST items!

I had worked with this client before on her principal residence in the city so when she called me to come Redesign her lake home I couldn't wait. I literally arrived on moving day with the movers taking out the past owners things and bringing in my clients things. 

I had free rein to do what I wanted and put things where-ever I thought they should go.

Shar, what a beautiful restaging, and sure after your efforts it sold quickly.    Looks like a home you would find in our foothills.   Bet the time at the lake was fun!

I try to take a lot of before pictures Janis as I never know how the furniture will end up and how the best 'after' picture will be framed. I don't always hit the mark each time with the exact angles but I try. ;) 

Thank you Valerie. The movers actually had put them there moving everything in. It was up to me to decide what went in each room so the cushions had to go for me to get to work!

The wood is stunning John even for us non-guys! LOL

This was a Redesign Joan so worked for the new owners to get it cozy for them. They won't be selling for quite some time I don't think.

Shar, I sure hope you entered this in the RESA Redesign competition (I didn't get a chance to vote, but I'll go back and look). This client must have a vibrant personality. Love the unexpected style for this setting.

Kim, I have never entered anything in the RESA competition. I just never have time! Ha. Thank you though for voting for me if I had been there! The owner of this home is great and does have a vibrant personality. It is a stunning lake home and the pops of contemporary and urban chic in the setting in the woods and lake is so fun and yes, very unexpected. Makes it so interesting! 

Roger....of course you would spot the chairs! LOL. It is because of this project that I have my chairs. I loved them here, asked her where she got them and went to the store and bought the last 3! 2 for me, 1 for the warehouse. ;)

Shar - What a great project to work on!  Love the owner's furniture - you must have been like a kid in a candy store with all the beautiful items to work with.  I love the way you positioned the furniture and made sense of it all.  It's one thing to have nice things, but it's another to display and showcase them to get the maximum effect.  Ok, I'm totally digging the zebra rug!!!  Truly a dream project.

This must have been so much fun....I love redesign work.  It's so nice to make the homeowner happy instead of telling them to "prepack" all their favorite things, LOL!

At first I was a little worried about putting the zebra rug with the zebra bench Sally but it totally worked. The red antler pillow was icing on the cake. Speaking of candy stores.....bakery too. LOL

Her items were the best Maureen. As she kept saying..."I know what I like but I just can't figure out how to make them all work together." We made a great team.

Isn't that the truth Debb. Where is Fishhawk lake? 

So true Sharon...we get to use ALL their things instead of taking them away. 

Yup....in fact I was just back there this past week Janice and we are working on another couple of rooms.
