From Page 2 to Page 1: Vancouver Home Staging
Yes, I know! I know! I've been missing in action for a bit. But fear not I am coming back stronger than ever! I'm working on some things that are taking my full attention at the moment but you can't keep me away (those of you who have tried know that!). LOL!
In the mean time, I'll give you a little hint at to what I've been working on,....
Excellent Post Michael George! Sally Weatherley most excellent job here!!!
This post is about Vancouver home staging, and specifically, Vancouver home stager, Sally Weatherley. She's been stuck on page two of Google for weeks and today, I took a few minutes to bring her to page one.
Are you stuck on page 2 of Google? That's usually the easiest jump to make (from page 2 to page 1), but many people get stuck on page 2 and never move up. If you are that close you probably only need to make a couple of changes.
Many of us know Sally Weatherley from here on ActiveRain. She is a sweetheart and a home stager in Vancouver BC. She's been stuck on page two because of some tiny errors.
I just spent five minutes- maybe less- fixing the errors, and another to write this post and in a couple of days, Sally's search engine position for "Vancouver Home Staging" will go from page 2 to page 1.
Here is what I did:
#1. I changed her page title from:
Professional Home And Real Estate Staging | Vancouver
to
Vancouver Home Staging | Real Estate Home Staging in Vancouver
The term that you want to rank highly for, should lead in the title. I removed the word "professional" because I don't think anyone is searching for an amateur home stager- so the word is not needed.
#2. Next, I changed her description. It was:
"Did you know there actually is a “secret home & real estate staging recipe” for starting bidding wars? Why is it that no one seems to want to talk about it..."
Do you see why that is bad? The biggest problem is that it doesn't say "Vancouver." I am looking for a Vancouver Home Stager! Why wouldn't it say "Vancouver" in the description?
Here is the new description:
Vancouver home staging that will help your real estate sell much faster, and often at a better price, by long time Vancouver home stager, Sally Weatherley.
#3. I changed the "alt" tag on her photo, on the main page. (Many of you should do this.)
Alt tags are very important for SEO, but if you stuff them with keywords, that's considered black hat. For Sally's Photo, she simply had it labeled "Sally Weatherley" which is honest and descriptive- as it should be.
But I made it even more honest and even more descriptive and got keywords in there. I labeled her photo as "Sally Weatherley, Vancouver Home Stager." Makes sense right?
Do your photo's alt tags say your name only? If you are a Realtor, label your images with your title! Help Google to help you!
#4. We put a heading tag across the top of her page that says "Vancouver Home Staging." It used to be a welcome message. The welcome message is still there, but it has been moved below the primary heading.
#5. I wrote this post.
Finally, the last thing I did was write this post in which I talk about Sally and home staging. Contextual links are important. This article is about Sally and home staging and Vancouver, so links to her site make sense. So do the links below. I have a new client in Amarillo, and I would love to link to him from here, but I can't. It would drag down the "Vancouver theme" this post has. All of your posts should have a clear theme and links to resources regarding that theme.
