Even though we live in a small town, we have always been fortunate to have many events with incredible musical talent. This year Michael Martin Murphey, well known country singer and song writer, will be bringing his Cowboy Country Ball to Red River starting December 28th. One of the original Christmas Balls started in Anson, Texas. The Texas Cowboys’ Christmas Ball Association has announced that the Texas Historical Commission has designated the legendary Texas Cowboys’ Christmas Ball and Pioneer Hall as an Official Texas Historical Event and Site to promote historic preservation and the celebration of Texas history.

Murphey used to have a home here and I am currently working with him on helping him find another place to move back. If you happen to be in the area, it will be a great concert and evening.

Linda I hope you get out to enjoy the show. I too live in a small town of 7000, and I'm going to see our home town boy - Fred Eaglesmith in concert tonight. Fred normally is out on tour in the USA & Canada, and this his the only time we get to see him here all year! It also really puts you in the mood for the holidays.
