The Gateway Geese
Just another reason that I love living in Gateway Subdivsion in Enterprise, Alabama. We're on the edge of town, so get quite a few "visitors". We've got the ducks that I've posted about, the white geese that stay on one small pond, plenty of deer (we've seen several walk by our house just in the last week - if we don't see one, my 4 year old grand-daughter asks where they are). In fact, the name of my street is "Deer Run Strut" (our deer are too cool to walk - they strut!!)
Now we have these visiting geese, who probably are returnees as they seemed comfortable with the cars driving by. Only when I got out and walked toward them did they start to move.
On the way to her parents house two days ago, my wife saw a "herd" of about a dozen deer crossing the highway. As usual, she just enjoyed the view and forgot to grab the camera. I did that with three deer that were crossing by my house last week. Just sat there, really still, and watched - THEN remembered the camera!!
