How Are Your Powers of Observation-An Example of ACYC

An interesting photo you might think: rustic backyard with a decorative arch. What do you see? This was taken at OHANA Cafe where we had our meetup earlier this month. It’s a great example of ACYC. What’s
ACYC? ALWAYS CARRY YOUR CAMERA.

Powers of observation

So what did you see?

Powers of observation

What does this have to do with you?

As a real estate agent, you should be using your powers of observation. Take note of all the little details about the homes you’re listing or selling. Be observant and ask questions when you see something that doesn’t look right to you. It can save you later on. Always take pictures, and always, always, ask questions.

How Are Your Powers of Observation- Always Ask Questions - it might save you one day.

Toni: We train ourselves to pickup on client non-verbal cues (folding of arms, facial expressions, etc.) to help us gauge interest, tone/mood, etc.  The power of observation is a strong tool we should all have in our RE tool-belt.

Toni, I try to have my camera with me and if all else fails I whip out my phone and take the photo. It pays to be prepared.

Toni,

You are so right.  Both of us have trained ourselves to be super observant.  This applies to everything one does.  We were traveling in Yugoslavia a few years back (when it was called that).  Although we were staying at a lovely place near a lake, we both developed a sense of unease at being there.  After dinner, we decided to get the heck out of there, and drive back to Italy.  A few minutes later as we stopped to have lunch, we heard that an uprising had begun near where we were staying...We always heed those feelings.  A

Hi Toni.   I use my iPhone as my primary camera these days, and of course it's always with me.  The trick is to think of it in the moment.

Debbie - me too. I prefer my camera shots to my iPhone camera but in a pinch....

Dorie - that is so true! But I do know agents that tell me they didn't see "that".

Alexandra - thank goodness you listened to your inner guardian and got out of there. What a great story.

Kristin - thanks, he is a cute little kitty. Craig saw him first and pointed him out to me.

Joan - LOL, I saw that too.

Fred - how could we forget those? I love windchimes.

Larry and Sheila - we surely do if we want to hang in there.

Anna- that's exactly it. Thank you. I see my sellers staring at me looking around the ceilings, the floor tile, all kinds of things. They think I'm nuts but I learned this early on.

I noticed the kitty right away, because it reminded me of one I had by the name of Sybil.  I hope a big wind comes soon, and blows all the leaf and twigs off the roofs for those folks living in those homes.  One of the things I have noticed since becoming more interested in photography, as how I seem to view the world through what it would look like through a camera lens. . .I'm far more observant, while engaging life more.
