Home Staging FAQ’s-Boca Raton-I Had an Interior Decorator. Why Should I Get It Staged?
Home Staging is not Interior Decorating and having your home designedby a Decorator does not necessarily mean it’s been staged or prepared to be marketed.
Realtors, Stagers and Decorators face this question often when consulting on a home.
We can see that a great deal of time and money have been spent in turning the home into something beautiful that is exactly what the owners want. It reflects their lifestyle....their personal choices regarding color and design....it has been tailored made just for them.
Therein lies the problem.
Just because a home has been beautifully decorated and/or expensively furnished doesn’t necessarily mean that it is Staged and ready to be placed on the market. When we Stage a house it is to make sure that any potential buyer can see the structure... the “bones”... the liveability and possibilities of the house.
However.. that’s not all....
Staging or preparing a home for sale doesn’t just focus on paint color and furniture placement. A consultation can highlight :
~ Repairs that need to be made
~ Updates that may be needed
~ Landscaping areas of concern
~ Ways to highlight the “selling” points of your house
Some homes have TOO many taste specific items and can become distractions to a buyer.
This is not to say that someone trained as an Interior Decorator could not assist you in preparing your home for sale.
The important thing is to know that there is a difference.
