Who Knew?

It's amazing what real estate legal research reveals.  For example, while researching liens, I came across this Washington statute:

RCW 68.50.120

Holding body for debt — Penalty.

Every person who arrests, attaches, detains, or claims to detain any human remains for any debt or demand, or upon any pretended lien or charge, is guilty of a gross misdemeanor.

Hi Devon - it really is kinda funny at times what you uncover in some of those really old documents.  I'll periodically thumb through stuff like that and just to see what I find.  Interesting!

Good findings Devon! There's always interesting stuff to find when sifting through old paperwork and statues.

Listen, that may be the case but unless I get that $7.63 you owe me for dinner the other night I am not going to return the family remains I dug up and 'kidnapped'. ;)

All kidding aside, interesting indeed. I think there are a lot of old laws on the books that at the very least are perplexing if not outright strange and virtually unenforceable.
